Federation coffee is nestled in the bustling Brixton village and is fastly becoming a serious player on the London coffee scene. They roast their own beans and the staff (mostly Aussies) seem very passionate about their craft. It is a tiny place with about 6 tables inside and 5 outside, so you might have to share a table – I would recommend sitting outside and watching all of the characters that Brixton village attracts walking by.

My flat white was almost perfect – beautifully finished with fantastically creamy milk and an intense caffeine kick. They also have a great range of baking – I opted for a cherry coconut slice which was freshly made, topped with good quality chocolate and a great partner to my coffee.

Verdict
Federation offers well made coffee and a relaxed atmosphere – it is definitely worth a visit.
Coffee score – 4.5/5
Atmosphere – 4/5
